The National Hydrology Awareness program, conducted in collaboration with the AD-Ground Water Department, was undertaken by SEED in Vikarabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts from 2019 to 2022. In this initiative, SEED NGO facilitated the gathering of all relevant line departments onto one platform to inform them about the groundwater scenario in the state of Telangana and india particularly in drought-prone areas. In light of this, SEED NGO raised awareness about the consequences of over exploitation of groundwater, which contributes to drought conditions, and promoted conservation methods and efficient water usage. To achieve this, SEED NGO prepared booklets, pamphlets, and conducted awareness campaigns through activities such as Khalajatha and rallies. As a result, farmers have become more proactive in adopting conservation methods such as constructing farm ponds, percolation tanks, implementing soil conservation practices, and utilizing micro-irrigation techniques in their crop cultivation, leading to increased income.
