The primary goal is to achieve sustainable agriculture through collective actions undertaken by the farming community, with the aim of reducing agricultural input costs, enhancing productivity, accessing markets and financial resources, and establishing institutional linkages. With the support of NABARD, SEED NGO has facilitated the promotion of nine Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), encompassing five FPOs in Vikarabad, one FPO in Rangareddy district, and three FPOs in Siddipet district. Initially, SEED provided training and capacity-building assistance to these FPOs, focusing on conducting meetings, raising awareness, organizing gully meetings, exposure visits on FPO promotional activities, and disseminating guidelines and benefits. Subsequently, SEED facilitated the integration of farmers into federations and FPOs, with ongoing follow-up and further training sessions. This support led to the attainment of legal entity status, mobilization of share capital, and facilitated the acquisition of input shop licenses, thereby streamlining operations and fostering sustainability within the agricultural sector.


Key Results

  • 5000 farmers have joined 9 FPOs, collectively contributing a share capital of 45.00 lakhs. These FPOs have availed Business Development Assistance totaling Rs. 30.00 lakhs from NABARD, resulting in increased input business and aggregation of their produce.
  • FPOs are delivering 75% of input services and facilitating the marketing of produce from their collection centers.
  • 75% of shareholders have reduced input costs through training and exposure visits conducted by experts from research organizations such as KVK, DOTT Center, Agriculture, and Horticulture departments.
  • SEED has facilitated convergence assistance for FPO s from IFDC, RAHEZA, and the Horticulture department, procuring manual grading machines, weighing machines, vegetable boxes, and solar dryers.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, SEED provided vegetable market support by mobile Auto kitchen garden kits, dry ration kits, and masks to 1250 vulnerable families within the FPO s.
  • Facilitated Soil health cards have been distributed to 1250 farmers by SEED, with support from the Indian Institution of Oil Research and Krushi Vignan Kendras.
  • SEED has conducted training and capacity-building programs on online electronic marketing systems, soil health, Agree-Extension Services, and front line demonstrations.
  • Keshavapally FPO has procured a mobile vegetable cooler for storage purposes, resulting in a monthly income of Rs. 6000 for the FPO. Additionally, several other FPOs have established their own entity by setting up collection centers and input shops.


Farmers Club

SEED has promoted 75 farmers' clubs, raising awareness about their benefits through exposure visits. These clubs focus on vegetable cultivation, fodder cultivation, technology transfer, and knowledge dissemination on Good Management Practices. SEED aims to federate these clubs into Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), granting them legal recognition and entity status. This strategic approach empowers agricultural communities by facilitating collective action and formalizing operations for enhanced sustainability and prosperity. Key results include increased income from enhanced milk yields from fodder cultivation, and the dissemination of scientific knowledge through vegetable demonstration programs. Many farmers' clubs have unified to form Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), diversifying their operations and offering vital services to village farmers and shareholders.


Joint Liability Groups

40 farmer members from 8 Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) were trained in dairy development, receiving loans of 2.50 lakhs each to procure milch animals. The Animal Husbandry department provided technical assistance. The Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank facilitated collateral loans, extending a total loan of Rs. 20 lakhs to the JLGs. The program's successful implementation increased monthly income for farmers from Rs. 14,000.00 to Rs. 20,000.00 through milk sales.

Relief initiatives in response to the COVID-19


During the Pandemic situations SEED has been taken up the initiation towards created awareness on COVID readiness programs with the support partners NGO in Covid Action Collab plot form. Pertaining to this enlightened the community on reducing COVID wave by adaption of guidelines and precautions,mean while SEED participated many virtual meetings with full pledged volunteers by COVID ACTION COOLAB for addressing the COVID relief activities and COVID guidelines


At the same time SEED has been approached and play a pro active role for addressing the transport issues for this MUTHOOTI GEORGE FOUNDATION under CSR ask them to provide the medicated vehicle for front line workers to reach their duties from their home to Fever hospital and to bring the vaccine from Abdullapur PHC to vaccination centers in GHMC hayathangar circle.


Part of the COVID readiness programs SEED done good job pertaining to the vaccination followed the COVID guidelines and support to the vulnerable families explained about the vaccination importance in all GHMC areas in LBNAGAR as a result covered 101250 families for vaccination to all respective doses


During the COVID-19 situation, SEED played a vital role in addressing the marketing issues faced by marginal and small farmers. With the support of volunteers and staff, SEED obtained permission from the Police Department and Horticulture Departments. Subsequently, SEED provided transportation through mobile autos to facilitate the transportation of produce from the farmers to the market. This initiative directly benefited 250 farmers by providing them with livelihood opportunities. Additionally, by ensuring the continuation of agricultural activities and the availability of produce in local markets, SEED contributed to reducing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 8 villages of Nawabpet mandal, Vikarabad district.


In the districts of Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Suryapet, Siddipet, and Khammam in Telangana state, SEED distributed nutritional and dry ration kits to 2,500 vulnerable families and masks to 4,520 families. This initiative was made possible through the support of SWASTI organization, UMEED project, CAC, Dignity Drive Foundation, individual donations from the UK, US, and Canada, as well as contributions from other software employees. Simultaneously, SEED provided 50 pulse oximeters to health workers at PHC Abdullapur of Ranfgareddy district.


In response to a request from the GHMC Hayathnagar circle, SEED initiated various health interventions by organizing free blood tests for Cholesterol, Creatinine, Sugar, BP, and HBsAg. These efforts aimed to enhance awareness among the populace regarding prevalent diseases, facilitated through the platform of 'Muthoot Snehasraya.' SEED provided personnel to oversee the camps and extended support to Muthoot staff by providing sustenance and other forms of hospitality. As a result of these initiatives, 5000 vulnerable families residing in 50 colonies within the Hayathnagar GHMC areas benefited significantly. Notably, these families experienced a reduction in health expenditure from 2500 to 500.00, thereby alleviating their financial burden in accessing essential healthcare services.


SEED NGO raised awareness on menstrual hygiene among women and adolescent girls, while also distributing 2000 sanitary napkins to them.
